All I Want for Christmas

imagesNon-theatre friends of mine (few that there are) ask me this time of year what I plan to do for the holidays. Of course, I say head to NYC. After all that budgeting to pay the mortgage off on our Washington Heights condo I am drawn to the promised land for the reward – and obviously for some theatre. My friends ask, “How in the world do you want to spend your sweet two weeks off trudging from theatre to theatre to see things that you read, talk and pontificate about each and every day?” It does give me pause Is the anything ELSE to do in NYC? It does seem like a big city that SHOULD have lots of options to spend your time with? Rumors of other activities in the city are there but not confirmed. I can only think that EVERYONE leaves the street at matinee and evening performance times. I have never witnessed this – – thank god – but I can’t imagine ANYONE on the sidewalk for these two hours. But then again, I am not going to test this theory. There may be other things to do in NYC, but my dancecard is full!

Tired of seeing theatre after teaching theatre? Hell no! I am the proud nyctheatreaddict.com Check me out on this, my sister web, for the next two weeks.

I so understand this! I’m a freelance photographer and guess what I’m doing when I have some time off? Yep, I grab my 50mm and snap everything around me! “Doing what you love is freedom, loving what you do is happiness!”

I just think that it is so great that the photographer has the same connection to work of art and taking time away from our art
