After teaching theatre for over 37 years, I retired as of August 1, 2020. It was a wonderful ride and is full of such good memories. What I would like to do is to convert this blog that originally was a diary of all my class doings - and make it now a daily reflection on what it is like to be retired and some of the highlights that have stayed with me from the theatre classroom. I hope you enjoy!
I commit to writing this blog each day that we have school. It is Friday. We have no school. I need to get my dishwasher repaired and pool cleaned. That is all the theatre my brain can hold. Monday will be here soon. The words will come Monday. But Friday I give to sunshine and chores.

It’s important to have a day off and cleaning can be very therapeutic. I enjoy cleaning if I have been at my desk all day. I enjoy the physical activity and the sense of achievement afterwards and of course the satisfaction of having a clean space to live and work in. How great that you have a pool! It sounds like a fun place to be – theatre, plays, performances and swimming! Why, by the way, is there no school on Friday?
