I am one of the lucky ones. I have never worked a day in my life. Teaching theatre was something I loved so much as a passion – that if I didn’t need the money – I would have done for free. How can it be work when it is you would practice without this incentive? Of course, I am now retired but Labor Day remains a puzzle to me – are there actually people out there who truly “work” their entire adult life? And I suppose you are thrilled when you stop? Sad.
