The Creepy in Teaching

UnknownAs school moves to a new year and a new set of craziness and challenges, you can see the newspapers full of the opinions on public education. Some find it to be a noble profession – – working for the love of children and the future of our country – – others site public eduation as the reason that they would want to drive off the edge of a bridge. Both are true, I suppose, but on a much more simple level, I find teaching to be just a bit creepy. Stay with me. When the majority of the world heads off the to work world they are with a group of people that age along with them. Year by year, everyone gets just a bit greyed, just a bit more wrinkled, a bit closer to the faded blush of fall.

But every year I head off to school, they have never grown older. They have been sixteen and seventeen for over 23 years. They never age. They are stuck in time. These little “Dorian Grays” are just plain spooky; something in those lunch boxes contains a bit of that Fountain of Youth. And to be around them TRULY makes me feel old. As they walk down the halls and give me that prefunctory, “Hello, Mr. Higgins”, I can sense under their breath their derision and smugness in owning the truth that they are evergreen – – while I am ultimately going step-by-step toward that bright academic light in the distance – – beckoning me to my last class.

Clearly they have sold their soul to the devil. How else is one promised youth forever.

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.

It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all site
owners and bloggers made good content as you did,
the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.

Hi there fantastic website! Does running a blog such as this take
a great deal of work? I have no knowledge of coding but
I had been hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyway, should you have any recommendations
or techniques for new blog owners please share. I understand this
is off subject however I just had to ask.

How great of you to write. I have doing this blog only for a month or so but I am loving the energy it has given my life. Instead of using my free time to dwell on my problems, I focus on the next title for my blog. Once I get the title the blog writes itself. I would recommend that like exercise, you make a pact to write every night before you go to bed. Get your topic in the morning shower, play with the idea during the day, and give yourself a half hour at the laptop before you go to bed.
