I have a lot more time on my hands. That has been both a blessing and a bit of a curse. I am so attuned to running through the day without barely taking a breath and barely taking the time with lunch. Now my lunch break could be two hours if I wanted. One of the moments that struck me most when coming home from the gym today is that I took the time to actually change eyeglasses from my regular glasses to the sunglasses that I keep in a compartment over my rear view mirror. Those glasses have been there for years and have hardly ever been worn. In my “employed years” I guess life was moving so quickly (or at least I perceived it that way) that I just didn’t take the time to switch my glasses. I really don’t think I was THAT busy but it sure felt like it. Now I take the time. I switch out my glasses on every sunny afternoon. I now wear sunglasses.
